Jewellery Studio Show and Sale

Today I woke up to the beautiful sight of snow on the ground which always puts me in a great mood. It also puts me in the mood for Christmas and Christmas shopping!

I mentioned in the last post that we would be having a Jewellery Studio Show and Sale in November. The date has actually been moved and the show will be happening next weekend. The show features some of my own work as well as the work of various students who have studied with Connie Godwin. For those of you who don’t know, Connie and I share the studio space. Connie also teaches classes, so it is a great opportunity to get more information if this is something that interests you.

I will only have a small selection of work on display to make room for student work, but please feel free to come by and check it out.
I’ll post details in the next couple days on my own Christmas open house for those wanting to do some shopping.

It’s been a while…

Well, blog posting has not been my strong point lately. I guess I’ve been a bit preoccupied with other things. For starters Dan and I are expecting again. Very exciting, but unfortunately fatigue has not been helping my productivity.
I’ve also been busy at the studio getting new designs made and updating my collections. Which has paid off because I have some very big news!
KJ Designs has been accepted to Styll Gallery in Elora, ON. I am so pleased. This is a great venue to showcase my unique and one of a kind designs.
I just dropped off a huge collection of work, so if you are in the neighbourhood be sure to go and check it out. They also have a lot of other wonderful work from some great artists.

I’m still taking a break from posting regular retail hours. I now need to get some more designs under my belt as I just shipped out most of my recent work. However, I am always available by appointment so feel free to contact me if you want to pop in.

I’ll also be hosting a christmas student show and sale at the studio with Connie Godwin. We’ll be showcasing the work of several students in the jewellery program as well as displaying Connie’s work and my own. At great chance to see some new designs. It will be Friday November 23 and Saturday November 24. I’ll keep you posted as details become available.

I’ll have Christmas show and sales into December. Stay tuned for dates. A great opportunity to get some christmas shopping done!

Summer is in full swing!

Well, I’m a little behind the ball in posting hours for the summer. Actually I’m a lot behind the ball. I took a bit of a break from regular hours to focus my energy into creating my new line. As much as I feel a little guilty for not updating the blog, it was really nice to disconnect for a while and delve into my work. And clearly it was a good decision because my line is finished and I must say the pieces are beautiful! Plus my head and sketch book are swimming with ideas for the future.

It has definitely been a busy summer so far. We’ve been having a ton of fun with Sofia! What a difference a year can make. Things have been busy as well with more custom orders, and I promise I will post pictures as soon as the pieces are finished.

We’ve also been working really hard at adding additional retailers to carry our designs. I’m pleased to say that we have a lovely selection of jewellery at the Puddicombe House, in their spa section in New Hamburg. We’ll continue to update new locations.

We’re going to have an End of Summer open house at the studio. It will be a great chance to come in and see our new work. Believe me, there is a lot of it
The open house will be over 2 dates, Thursday August 23 from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday August 25 from 10am to 1pm. Our promotion will be buy 1 pair of earrings and get the second at 50% off. Certain restrictions apply.

There will not be any other hours for the rest of August as I will be away on vacation, but as always you can make an appointment. Regular hours will return in September.

A note as well that from August 6 until August 15 I will be away and unreachable by phone and e-mail. I will respond to any inquiries when I return. Thank you for your patience.

May Hours and Mothers Day Open House

I’m actually posting hours well in advance for May! I’m pretty pleased with my accomplishment.
The studio has been undergoing some transformations lately. It seems as soon as you think things are set up just right, something comes along and throws everything for a loop.
We’ve recently had some new display cases installed, so we’ll be working hard at getting the display area primped and primed in time for a mothers day open house. The cases are beautiful and a welcome addition to the display area. There is also a ton of new work on display. We’ve been busy, busy, busy! Spring is such a great time for a cleanup and refresh.

Jewellery is a great way to give your mother or wife something special and unique for mothers day. To help make things easier we’ll be offering a 20% discount on all purchases at the open house! Don’t forget we can also custom create something you don’t see!

April’s hours are squeaking in just under the wire. Things have been busy at the studio lately. The display area is undergoing a bit of a facelift, giving everything a fresh look. There are some new designs to be seen and a lot of new designs on the way.

Not only did the first year at the studio fly by, so did the first year of my Daughter Sofia. We just celebrated her first birthday this past weekend and I can not believe it. It was such a lovely party and I can’t wait to enjoy the upcoming year with her as well!

I’m almost accomplishing one of my new years resolutions, and February’s hours are going up (although a day late ). Just to make things even better, I’m going to add March’s as well.

With Valentines day just around the corner, we are going to be having an open house for those who want to shop for their loved ones, or even themselves. One of a kind, local, handmade jewellery always makes a thoughtful gift.

The Open House will be Wednesday February 8th from 5pm to 7:30pm. We’re offering buy one pair of earrings and get the second pair at 50% off. We’ll also honour the sale price on Saturday February 4th and 11th. We’d love to help the men in your life shop as well, so send them in.

I promised new pictures of new stock and I swear I’m working on them. I definitely have a host of new pieces in progress and can’t wait to display my new designs. Pictures will be coming shortly.

New Year Hours

2011 turned out to be a great year. We made it through the first year at the studio. It was a lot of work but I think everything has turned out great. We’d like to thank everyone who has come by to support us! We wouldn’t be a success otherwise.

We celebrated Sofia’s first christmas this year, which was a blast! And we are almost done with our Kitchen renovation which will be a huge relief.

One of my new year resolutions is to be more diligent with my blog posts and getting retail hours up on time! So far I am not off to a good start. I’m blaming the kitchen right now, but soon I will have nothing to blame.

We’ll be starting open houses again in February just in time for Valentines day, so keep watching for details.

We hope everyone had a great holiday and new year and wish you all the best of health and happiness for 2012! I think it will be a great year.

Getting Ready For Christmas

It’s the beginning of November already! This year has flown by. We just finished celebrating Sofia’s first halloween and soon we’ll be onto her first christmas, how exciting!

We’re sneaking off for a bit of a holiday before the snow flies. We’ll be off from Sunday November 6 to Sunday November 20, so we’ll respond to any inquiries when we return starting Monday November 21.

In the meantime we’d like to share our hours with you for the holiday season. We’ll be keeping up with our open house promotions throughout November and December as well. So come on out to see our new designs. We’re also pleased to offer jewellery designs in gold. If you see a design you like in sterling silver but would prefer gold, simply contact us and we can discuss.

Please keep in mind that any special orders for christmas will need at least a couple weeks notice as it is a busy time of year.

October’s Hours

Alright, I promise before 2012 I will get hours posted well before the months arrival.

September was CRAZY. I realize I say this every month, but September really was. We sold our house in August and until 10 days before we were scheduled to move, we still hadn’t found another house. Fate was definitely on our side and we are so happy to be settled in our new home. But let me tell you, closing a house in 10 days is madness. Throw in 2 sick parents and a sick 8 month old and it is complete madness.

For october’s hours I am only scheduling in Saturdays. This seems to be the best day for people to stop by the studio. Please bear in mind I am around more frequently than 1 day a week, so if Saturday doesn’t work for you send me an e-mail or call and I’ll definitely be able to accommodate whatever is convenient for you.

There are lots of new pieces on display at the studio, so come by to check them out. We haven’t had time to update the website, so you are best to come in to see what we have available. Christmas is approaching faster than I can believe so keep us in mind for your christmas shopping. We have a great gift selection and plenty of affordable options.

We’ll be having another studio open house on October 26th. This open house deal is buy 1 pair of beaded earrings and receive a second at 50% off. Stay tuned for open house dates in November and December and the deals that come along with them.

The studio will be closed from November 6th until November 21st as we will be on vacation, please keep this in mind for any christmas orders.
